Range does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics service. Everything the app does happens on your iPhone.
When you measure from a photo, Range asks iOS for that one image through the standard system photo picker. The picker runs outside the app: Range never gets access to your photo library, only to the single picture you chose, which is why the app never asks for photo library permission.
That image is held in memory only for as long as it takes Apple's on-device Vision framework to look for body joints in it and place the three markers. Range then keeps the angle and nothing else. The photo is not saved into the app, not written to disk, not attached to the measurement, and not uploaded anywhere. Closing the protractor screen discards it.
The body-pose detection runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's Vision framework. No part of the image is sent off the device, to us or to Apple.
You never have to use a photo at all. Set the angle by hand gives you the same protractor with no image behind it, and produces a real, saved measurement. Two of the eight movements — neck rotation and ankle dorsiflexion — are always measured this way, because the pose model has no chin or toe landmark to find.
Range saves the following locally, using Apple's on-device database and the standard iOS settings store:
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any server operated by us. If your iPhone is included in an iCloud or encrypted local backup, this data may be included in that backup, under Apple's control and covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Delete all measurements in Setup erases them immediately. Deleting the app deletes all of it, permanently. There is no copy anywhere else.
Range does not connect to Apple Health. It neither reads nor writes HealthKit data. Your measurements are ordinary app data, not medical records, and Range does not send them to any health service, insurer, employer or clinician.
Range requests no permissions at all. It does not ask for your camera, your photo library, your contacts, your location, your microphone, your calendar, Health, notifications or tracking.
Range Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We never see your payment details, your name, or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app one thing only: whether a valid subscription is currently active. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Range contains no advertising, no third-party SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind. The App Tracking Transparency prompt is never shown because there is nothing to ask you about.
Range is rated 4+. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either. There is no messaging, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and no way for one user to contact another.
Range is a measuring tool for tracking your own flexibility over time. It does not diagnose, treat or assess any condition, and the typical ranges it shows are published population averages rather than targets. If something hurts, see a physiotherapist or a doctor.
Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. The data described above is on your own device and entirely under your control — you can view it in the app, edit it, and delete it from Setup.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address and the date at the top will change. If a future version of Range ever collects anything, that change will be described here before it ships, and in the app's release notes.
